SharePoint to Microsoft 365 migration & auth modernization
The challenge
On-premises SharePoint farms (2010-2019) reached end of support with years of accumulated customizations: workflows, form solutions, timer jobs and dozens of unattended service integrations authenticating with retired protocols. A lift-and-shift was impossible; a rewrite of everything at once, unaffordable.
What we did
We migrated content and rebuilt customizations incrementally: what had a modern equivalent moved to SharePoint Online and Power Platform; bespoke logic became .NET services calling Microsoft Graph and CSOM with certificate-based Entra ID app registrations.
Every unattended integration was inventoried, tested against a smoke-test harness we built for the purpose, and cut over before Microsoft's legacy-authentication deadlines - no surprise outages on retirement day.
The outcome
- Content and integrations moved without business interruption
- All service connections on supported, certificate-based authentication
- Customization inventory replaced tribal knowledge with documentation
- Freed the client from maintaining on-premises farm infrastructure
